Intern with us!  The Father Ryan Arts Center is a program of Focus on Renewal (FOR), a non-profit health and human service agency in McKees Rocks that has a 40-year history of empowering neighbors through services and integrated community participation.

 

Earn academic credit and valuable real-world experience working in the Public Relations and Marketing Department for the Father Ryan Arts Center as an integral part of the office. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking for an internship where creative expression is not only encouraged, but also expected!

 

The Photography and/or Video Production Intern will assist the public relations and marketing department with creating, editing and assembling video footage and photographs for a variety of projects. The candidate will work closely with the PR coordinator to help communicate and deliver the art center’s mission and brand for television, film and Web.

 

PROJECTS/JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Field work (making appointments and setting up interviews, shooting still and/or video content)
  • Build/archive photo/video libraries; upload and convert photo/video files
  • Help build traffic on social networking sites (This will involve adding friends, posting bulletins, sending messages, etc to generate traffic)
  • Marketing/promotional projects (still photography and multimedia projects including videos for recruitment purposes)
  • Assist with miscellaneous special projects and other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Assess, organize, log & provide access to archival photographs and footage of high organizational value
  • Database management skills with ability to produce reports/logs
  • Demonstrated proficiency in photography and video editing systems with Web integration
  • Proven organizational/time management skills and attention to detail (ability to meet deadlines)
  • Excellent verbal and written skills

Compensation will be the items you produce, which may be used in your portfolio, as well as real-world work experience. The supervisor may also be used as a reference for future job searches. Free parking is available.
